Bella’s Backyard Dilemma
Hi, I'm Bella, the squirrel who lives in the backyard of a human house. Recently, I noticed my human, Sarah, started acting differently. She looks happy but unsure, like when I find a new nest and don't know if it's safe yet.
Sarah used to spend a lot of time alone after her friend moved away. Now, she has someone new visiting often. I watch from my tree, curious about this new person. Sometimes, Sarah laughs and sometimes she looks nervous. I think this must be what humans call a "rebound."
The other day, I heard Sarah say, "It's strange but nice to have company again so soon." I understand that feeling. When I lose my favorite branch, I try a new one, but I’m not sure if it will hold me well yet. Trust takes time.
As for me, I keep watching and learning. Change is part of life, but trust must grow slowly. Watching Sarah helps me know that even if things look awkward at first, maybe they can become something good. And that gives me hope for both humans and squirrels like me.
