Endless Scroll at the City Park Bench

Sarah sat down on a park bench during her lunch break. She opened her phone to check the news. At first, she wanted to see what was happening in the world briefly. But soon, she found herself scrolling without stopping for a long time.

After about an hour, Sarah looked up and realized she had been reading only bad and sad news. She felt tired and a little upset. "Why do I feel worse after reading the news?" she asked herself.

This feeling is called "doomscrolling." It means when people keep looking at negative or scary news on their phones or computers. It happens often, especially in busy cities where news is everywhere.

Sarah learned that too much bad news can make people feel worried or sad, even if the problems are far away. She decided to try something new. "I will check the news only twice a day, and for just a few minutes," she said.

By limiting her time on the news, Sarah wanted to stay informed but not feel overwhelmed. She also planned to enjoy her breaks more, watching the people and trees around her. This small change helped her feel better and less stressed throughout the day.
