Lights, Camera, Family Ties
Last weekend, my brother and I watched an old movie together—something we haven't done in years. Sitting side by side on the couch, it was strange but also comforting. The movie made me remember when we were kids, sharing snacks and laughing at silly scenes. Back then, things seemed simpler and our bond stronger.
Halfway through, my brother glanced at me and said, "Remember how we used to watch these all the time? I missed this." His words caught me off guard. We hadn't talked much since our fight last year. That moment made me realize how much time we had lost. I responded quietly, "Me too. Maybe it’s time to fix things."
Watching the characters on screen forgive each other reminded me how important it is to forgive in real life too. Holding onto anger only keeps people apart. Our shared memories showed me that despite the distance, the connection inside us never truly breaks.
This experience taught me that family, with all its ups and downs, is worth fighting for. Sometimes, just watching a simple movie can open a door to healing old wounds and bringing people closer again. Forgiveness isn’t easy, but it is the first step to reconnecting and moving forward together.
