I am Max, a brown dog living in a big animal shelter. Every day, new dogs come here, and I see how scared they are. People visit, but many just look and leave without choosing anyone. It makes me sad because all of us want a loving home.

One day, a little girl came to the shelter. She smiled at me and said, "Hello, Max!" I wagged my tail happily. She walked around, looking at the other dogs too. Then she said, "I want to help. Can I come back with you?"

The workers told her that adopting is a good way to help us. It means giving love and a safe place to live. I hope more people understand this. Maybe then, more dogs like me will find friends and families to love.
