Emma sat at her small desk in the bright city apartment. She looked at the postcards she had collected. Each one was sent to her best friend, Lily, back in their quiet town. "I miss you," Emma wrote on the last card. "But this city is big and busy."

One evening, Emma called Lily on her phone. "Do you think our friendship can stay strong, even if I’m far away?" she asked. Lily smiled and said, "Yes! We just have to keep trying." Emma felt a little better.
