Quiet Evening with Grandma’s Stories
I was sitting on the old couch at Grandma’s house when my phone buzzed again. Each beep pulled my eyes away from her face and the stories she was telling about our family.
"Why don't you turn that off and listen?" Grandma said kindly, noticing my distraction. I nodded and put my phone on silent. The room felt quieter, and I could hear every word she said more clearly.
She told me about great-grandpa’s travels during the war and how our family lived in a small town near the river. These were stories I never heard before, stories that didn't come up on my phone or social media.
As I listened, I realized these moments with Grandma were special. No screen could replace the warmth of her voice and the history she shared. I promised myself to be less caught up in my phone next time.
