Sophie’s Forgotten Homework
Sophie sat at her desk, staring at the teacher. "Sophie, where is your homework?" the teacher asked kindly.
Sophie felt her face get hot. She had forgotten to do it. "I forgot," she said quietly, but then she said, "I did it, but I lost it." The other students looked at her.
Later, Sophie talked to her friend. "I feel bad because I lied," she said. "Can you help me with my homework?"
Her friend smiled, "Everyone forgets sometimes. Let’s do it together."
The next day, Sophie told the teacher the truth. The teacher nodded and said, "Thank you for telling me, Sophie."
Sophie learned that telling the truth is better than hiding mistakes.
