The Last Vote at Sunrise
Amina woke up early, the sun just beginning to shine over her small village. Today was election day, and everyone talked about how important it was to vote. At sixteen, Amina couldn't vote yet, but she felt excited to see democracy in action.
At the polling station, Amina noticed a man standing close to a group of voters. He seemed to be watching them very carefully and talking loudly. "You better vote for Mr. Lopez," he said. Some people looked scared. Amina felt her heart beat faster. She knew this was wrong.
She took a deep breath and walked over. "Sir, everyone has the right to vote freely," she said, her voice strong. "Please stop scaring people." The man looked surprised but moved away.
Afterward, Amina felt proud. She learned that standing up for what is fair is not easy, but it is important. She understood that even a young person can make a difference in their community.
